Journey so far...

This institute was founded in 2005 by Vidhushi Smt. Girija Govinda Bhat at Surathkal, Karnataka with a vision of setting up Ranga (stage) to spread Tharangas (waves) of Sangitha (music). Since then, she has trained more than 200 students in Carnatic Classical Vocal Music, out of which many have passed examinations conducted by Karnataka Secondary Examination Board with distinction across various grades. Our students have earned various accolades including ranks at different forums.

At present, this institution has gained popularity among the locality due to some of its unique policies and initiatives which is oriented towards all round development of a student through combined efforts of teacher, students and parents. The institution respects traditional method of learning and is strengthened by relationship bond developed between Guru & Shishya.

Following the same ideology, her daughter-in-law, Vidhushi Smt. Akshatha Nishanth, expanded the horizon of this institution by setting up a branch of this institution in Surat during early 2014. She then introduced Bharatanatyam into this institution's offerings. Since then she has been teaching Bharatanayam Dance and Carnatic Classical Vocal Music to interested students around Surat. By now she has trained more than 100 students at Surat. The institute has performed at various prestigious occasions and was quick to grab attention of localities with the level of versatility demonstrated during performance.

Owing to growing demand and advancement in technology, Sangitharanga now also offers online classes in both Bharatanatyam as well as Carnatic Classical Music to interested students all around the globe!

Vidhushi

Girija G Bhat

Carnatic Classical Vocal Trainer

She is a disciple of Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan Sri M. Narayana and holds a Vidwath degree in Carnatic Classical Vocal Music issued by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). She was passionate about Carnatic Music since her early childhood when she started learning from her initial Gurus, Ganabhushanam Smt. V. Ramani & Krishnan Bagavathar at Nileshwar, Kerala. She obtained her B.A from Calicut University,Kerala. Post completion of Vidwath, she started to share her knowledge among nearby kids who were very fond of classical music. Gradually classes gained popularity and the institution grew into greater heights. Several performance evaluation and progress monitoring systems were introduced for the benefit of students and their parents. As a part of curriculum, she introduced various initiatives like voice culture classes, monthly Sangeetha Archane programs etc for overall development of her students. Her students have participated in renowned competitions and have won several awards. They have also consistently performed well in board exams across different grades of Music exams. conducted by KSEEB. Valuing her determination, voluntary service and contribution towards field of music at large, she was felicitated by Sangeetha Parishat during their Silver Jubilee celebration at Mangalore in 2018. She has a teaching experience of around 20 years and has trained more than 200 students so far and continues to conduct both offline and online classes at Surathkal.

Akshatha Nishanth

Bharatanatyam & Carnatic Classical Vocal Trainer

She is a disciple of Karnataka Jyothi Vidhushi Smt. Vidyashree Radhakrishna from whom she continues to seek more insights into Bharatanatyam dance. She is a great follower and student of Vidhushi Smt. Shankarimoorthy Balila who is a Gold medalist in Carnatic Classical Vocal Music Vidwath grade Examination conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). Being equally good in music and dance, she has also shown good interest in academics. She has obtained M.Sc. in Applied Zoology from Mangalore University. She cleared Vidwath examination in Bharatanatyam conducted by KSEEB with distinction and has been qualified as Doordarshan Kannada graded artist. Akshatha started learning classical dance and music when she was six years old and has performed in various stage shows and has won accolades in numerous state level competition, bringing glory to her institution. She has given multiple solo performances in Mangalore, Surat, Baroda, Delhi and other places. She is very keen to teach and has shown good results as a teacher since long. Having experience of training more than 200 students across different locations, she is looking forward to share her knowledge and help more and more budding artists in improving their skills. Her students have represented her Sangitharanga institution at various occasions across different locations and have won audience hearts! She continues to conduct offline and online classes both in Bharatanatyam as well as Carnatic Classical Vocal Music in Surat.
